Physical Description | Somewhat short, but lithe and taut with a clearly sculpted, well cut musculature. A delicate blending of masculine strength and curvaceous feminine attributes that are well held and framed by the black, curve-hugging paneled leather bodice, intricately stitched with golden edging. The ankle length, paneled skirt matches the design of the bodice, touching the top of dangerous looking horned boots. Her meticulously toned and well tanned arms are bare, her communicator clipped to a metallic cuff around her left bicep. Black leather, finger-less, horned gloves adorn strong, work worn hands, the nails at the tips of her fingers are kept neatly trimmed. When eyes finally move upwards, they are met with a dangerously inquisitive gaze. Her eyes, the color of warm chocolate, can flash either the light of good humor, or the soul withering glare of rage. The bony ridges of her forehead almost seem to form a feminine battle crown that rests on the top of a feminine yet unyielding, olive complected face. The mane of dark auburn hair that cascades over her shoulders and to the middle her armor shielded back is tied off in a myriad of tiny braids, some of which are gathered behind her head and clasped by a burnished steel hairpin in the shape of the Klingon trefoil. The sash that hangs from her left shoulder, clasps just on the right hip and is made of a paneled, supple dark brown leather. Mid sized golden rings are stitched along the length of either edge, the symbol of the Empire adorning the shoulder, the symbol of her House below that. She wears at least one blade, hanging from her belt, the crest of her House clearly visible on the pommel, while on the other hip hangs her standard issue disruptor. |

Personality & Traits
General Overview | Generally considered to be slightly crazy by a good number of her peers, though that does not concern her. While a bit obsessive about preparedness, she is normally a congenial commander, opting to relate to her crew with an openness that is rather rare within the Klingon race. That said, her temper is quite legendary when provoked.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths : Her engineering abilities are more in line with that of a Federation Officer than the long line of Klingon ship builders that she hails from and she is often chided about the opulence of her designs and the upgrades that she performs. She is highly detail oriented and willing to broker mutually beneficial deals with other races. Weaknesses: obsessive/compulsive. She insists on clockwork regulation of her crew as well as the highest efficiency from her ship and equipment which can, at times, lead her into fits of rage when things don't go exactly as she plans. |
|
Ambitions | To restore the Glory and Honor of the Klingon Empire that she finds herself facing in this new future. Loyal to the House of Martok, she works to see the dishonorable pe'taQ that has plunged her beloved Empire into war with the Federation, stripped of more than his cloak.
Hobbies & Interests | Fighting, piloting, engineering new ways to make her ship better and her crew more deadly. Drinking, singing loud songs, endurance and strength competitions. She is also a bit of a linguist, having learned a number of alien languages during her long and bloody career. |
Personal History | Born into a House of ship builders and engineers, VaQ'taj excelled in those studies. Her brothers were at war and it was supposed to fall to her to continue the family tradition, but she rebelled. She had no desire to sit around on the Homeworld while so many were fighting, and dying in honorable combat, to preserve the Empire. She knew that she was considered to be small and was well aware that her father was concerned about her chances of surviving the brutal training that was required to become an officer. A concern that was proven to be needless with the fullness of time. After spending two years of every spare moment working on her concept for a long range interceptor in an unused hangar bay, she proved just how versatile of a Warrior that she could truly be. After buzzing her family home in her hand built, somewhat rough looking, dual station fighter craft, her father, in a rage worthy of legends of old, 'acquiesced to her request'. She was promptly sent to the Klingon Academy, where perhaps she would learn some semblance of obedience. Of course, this was exactly what VaQ'taj wanted and she thrived with the training, though she did at times raise the ire of her instructors. She began to see them as brain locked, unable to shed the flawed and archaic technologies of their age old enemies, the Romulans. She began to further explore the varying technologies of the Federation and plans began to form in her mind. For her, it all seemed so simple; utilize the best technology available to build on, not the worst that your enemies feed to you. An opinion that, for some reason, most of her instructors apparently viewed as tantamount to treason. After completing the arduous training that had found her in command after she had been forced to dispatch their leader when he lost his grip on Duty and Honor, as well as his mind apparently, she was assigned to the I.K.S puyjaq as a leader of a small strike team. She spent the next fifteen years fighting for the Empire and trying to get transferred into an Engineering position. Apparently she was found to be more useful as a Marine than a tube crawler. When her father offered her the opportunity to design and build a prototype vessel with their allies in the Federation, VaQ'taj jumped at the chance to lead the mixed team. She had finally obtained her dreams. Then everything went sideways and she found her ship and her crew in a new age of war and strife. A war against the very allies that had proven themselves to be capable and honorable during the Dominion wars. The same allies that had worked so hard to make her ship possible. |
